May 2016 colour design challenge

May 2016 colour design challenge

Eek .. almost the end of May, and I have had yet to post my submission to Dry Gulch‘s monthly colour design challenge!  (nothing like just cutting it in under the wire!)

This month’s colour palette is inspired by vintage poppies …

While I love the colours, I found this challenge to be more … well … challenging, as I realized that I don’t really have a lot of red or coral coloured bits and pieces in my arsenal of jewellery supplies. Not for any particular reason … I just don’t seem to have many. But the seed beads and the colours in the owl bead I did have matched just perfectly!

So, along with the seed beads, I created a sweet little owl necklace adorned with moonstone, peridot, and amazonite … (similar in style to March’s submission, as it also featured a lovely little polymer clay pendant by Anastasia of Dreams and Elements ).

We’re calling this little guy  “Hoot”
