the Bead Peeps Swap N Hop – design challenge

A new year, a new jewellery design challenge!

Bring it on! The Bead Peeps Swap N Hop is in full swing!

Bead Peeps 2015 Blog Hop Badge

Thank you so much to Linda Anderson for taking on the enormous task of organizing and hosting a blog hop of such epic proportions. This is the inaugural blog hop of Bead Peeps Swap N Hop … reminiscent of Lori Anderson’s Bead Soup Blog Party from previous years.

Partners were announced a couple of weeks ago and allow me to introduce to you … my swap-ee … Debra Jeffries of Debra’s Divine Designs!

A fellow Canadian (she is in Ontario, I am in Alberta) and fellow Artisan Group Member …  Debra is mostly known for her handmade recycled real butterfly and insect wing jewellery. (Did you know that most butterflies have a very short life span of approximately only 2-3 weeks?! I had no idea – until I read her About Me page on her website!)

Here is a gorgeous example of some of Debra’s work … a real blue Morpho butterfly necklace

Her mission is “To create jewelry using eco-friendly, reclaimed, recycled items leaving a healthy sustainable planet. [Her] butterfly jewelry are created using only farmed, naturally expired butterflies and [her] goal is to teach the world about the importance of butterfly farming and keeping our world healthy for future generations”.

Well, it’s now time to get busy cooking up a soup mix for Debbie … stay tuned!
